BS(Artificial Intelligence)

The BS (AI) program gives the students an in-depth knowledge they need to transform large and complex scenarios into actionable decisions. The program and its curriculum focuses on how complex inputs — such as knowledge, vision, language and huge databases — can be used to make decisions to enhance human capabilities. The curriculum of the BS (AI) program includes coursework in computing, mathematics, automated reasoning, statistics, computational modeling, introduction to classical artificial intelligence languages and case studies, knowledge representation and reasoning, artificial neural networks, machine learning, natural language processing, vision and symbolic computation.

The program also encourages students to take courses in ethics and social responsibility, with the opportunity to participate in long term projects in which artificial intelligence can be applied to solve problems that can change the world for the better — in areas like agriculture, defense, healthcare, governance, transportation, e-commerce, finance and education.

Program Objectives

  1. Enabling the students to become skilled professionals in the field of artificial intelligence by imparting state-of-the-art knowledge of theories, practices and applications of artificial intelligence.
  2. Enabling the students to make intelligent decisions and to provide effective technological solutions.
  3. Refining communication and interpersonal skills of students to work independently as well as in a team with the sense of ethical, social and legal aspects.

Career Outcomes

The aim of artificial intelligence is to develop intelligent processes. Artificial intelligence and its derived branches such as machine learning are the fastest growing technologies these days. It pervades in almost every field of life, producing a plethora of technical positions and inter-disciplinary careers. Some of the potential positions for a BS(AI) graduate include intelligent system programmer, data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, information system analyst, software engineer, computer system engineer, big data engineer, business intelligence developer, machine learning engineer, product manager, AI engineer, etc.

Eligibility

At least 50% marks in intermediate examinations with mathematics, pre-medical or equivalent qualifications. Note: Students with pre-medical must have to pass deficiency courses of mathematics of 6 credit hours in the first two semesters.
